A few days later, the FBI attack the hideout. During the siege, Whistler destroys the hideout after being mortally wounded and dying in the ensuing explosion.
With his mentor gone Blade allows himself to be captured. As the police prepare to hand Blade over to a group of vampires, Blade is rescued by Hannibal King and Abigail Whistler.
The two head a group of vampire hunters called the Nightstalkers , formed by Blade's mentor to assist him.
King and Abigail reveal that Danica Talos , who was the vampire who bit King, has located the first vampire, Dracula , now called Drake.
Talos hopes that by resurrecting him, Drake will help save the vampire race by producing more daywalkers, and eliminate Blade.
In his first confrontation with Blade, Drake shows a sort of affinity for Blade, as they are both "honorable warriors" ironically, while Drake is delivering his speech about honor, he is hiding behind a baby he has taken hostage.
During the chaos, King is incapacitated by Drake. Blade eventually learns of a bioweapon the Nightstalkers had created called Daystar.
The weapon is capable of killing any and all vampires in a nearby area. However, there are two catches: The first is that Drake's blood must be infused with the virus.
On the other side is Blade and his team manifesting a virus that could wipe out the vampire race once and for all. In the end the two sides will collide and only one will come out victorious, a battle between the ultimate vampire who never knew defeat, facing off against the greatest vampire slayer.
Written by jay. I wasn't really a massive fan of the Blade films and all that, but the first 2 were entertaining enough. But all that has changed now, I am now a proud, rabid Blade-head!
Went to see Blade Trinity last night. It's succeeds in being almost as good as AvP, another one of the films of the year. Think I am going to go back and see it again.
It's really great to see that they decided to go with young, inexperienced actors for this one and that the main bad guy decides to act really badly - this helps to make the other actors stand out.
He has to be one of the top screen bad-guys of all time - an unforgettable, understated performance by the magnificent Dominic Purcell as Dracula Some not-that funny one liners by the young male vampire hunter detract from the plot and the action and the explosions and the cool CGI and stuff but some beautifully shameless plugs for ipod are worth the admission price alone; "What's she doing?
She likes to listen to mp3s whilst she kicks a Since they had all the cool explosions and fights and stuff they must've reckoned they didn't need to worry about a script at all - it's a bold move and it pays off.
And anyway it is really hard to concentrate on people speaking for long without explosions and stuff. The beauty of it was, cos of all the action and fire and explosions and stuff you don't really need to think about the storyline or pay attention much - the sign of a great director and script writer.
I really liked the bit where the blind woman died, it was really scary and moving. She was a really great character and it is a shame when she dies.
